Colorado and Montana nonprofits
The grants you'd apply for if someone had the time.
We read your 990 and your website, find the foundations and public programs that fit your work, check every deadline on the funder's own page, and draft the letters of inquiry. Your team edits, signs and submits.

About the samplePart of a real test Snapshot we built about a Montana food bank, from public records alone. Every funder, deadline and watch-out was checked against its source, and the full report links each one.
Food bank, northwest Montana
Whitefish Community Foundation: Emergency Response Grant
Deadline Dec 31, 2026 | Award: not stated on program page
For nonprofits facing an unexpected emergency in the Flathead Valley. Federal food cuts and rising demand are a plausible fit. Watch: the page asks for an "unforeseen situation."
Whitefish Community Foundation: Community Grant, 2027 cycle
Up to $10,000 (2026 cycle) | 2027 dates not yet posted
Programs serving Flathead County residents. Watch: organizations new to the program had to attend an information session first.
Whitefish Community Foundation: Capacity Building Grant
Letter of interest by Dec 1, 2026 | Reimbursement grant
Pays only for QuickBooks, a donor database, or strategic planning help. Skip unless one of those is missing.
Start with a free report. Decide from there.
Send us your website.
We pull your public IRS filings and read your site, so you don't fill out a long intake form.

A short report like the one above: current opportunities that fit, why each one fits, the deadline and any earlier registration date, what to watch out for, and a link to the funder's own page.
If it looks promising, start a Grant Sprint.
A 25-funder prospect list, two drafted letters of inquiry or short applications, and a deadline calendar, in 10 business days.
Keep going monthly, or stop there.
A monthly plan keeps your prospect list current and drafts your next submissions, so deadlines stop sneaking up on you.
You review every draft, sign it and send it. We never submit on your behalf or ask for your portal logins.
Flat fees. Never a cut of your grants.

No percentage of awards. Professional ethics guidance in the grants field warns against commission pricing, so we charge flat fees only.
No promised wins. Funders make the decisions. We stand behind the research and the drafts, not the outcome.
Monthly plans. Month to month. Cancel anytime by email; it takes effect at the end of the current billing month.
Yes, we use AI. Here is exactly how.
Grantsteady uses AI to research funders and draft grant materials. A person reviews our work before it reaches you, and you review and approve everything before it is submitted. We do not guarantee awards and we never charge a percentage of grants won. Accountable owner: Nels Tate, Tatonic Ventures LLC.
What we do
- Research funders in public sources: IRS filings, Grants.gov and funders' own websites.
- Check each deadline and requirement against the funder's own page.
- Draft from your materials, and flag anything we can't support for you to fill in.
- Note funders that ask about AI use and give you disclosure wording.
What we won't do
- Promise that a funder will award you money.
- Invent outcomes, numbers or stories.
- Submit applications or log in to your funder portals.
- Charge a percentage of grants won.
Our outreach emails carry this line: "This email was prepared by an AI system and reviewed by a person at Grantsteady before sending."
Fair questions
- Will funders mind that AI was involved?
- Policies vary. Some funders ask about AI use, many say nothing, and a few don't allow it. We note the policies we know about and give you disclosure wording where it's needed.
- We already have a development director. Is this for us?
- Possibly. A Snapshot can surface funders a busy team hasn't gotten to, and a Sprint takes first drafts off their desk. The free Snapshot is an easy way to judge.
- Who is this for?
- US 501(c)(3) nonprofits without a full-time grant writer. We're starting in Colorado and Montana. If you're elsewhere, ask.
- Do I need to get on a call?
- No. Everything can happen by email. If you'd like a short call to walk through your Snapshot, just ask.
Refund policy
The Funding Snapshot is free. The Grant Sprint has a money-back guarantee: if you ask within 14 days of purchase, we refund it in full. To ask, email grants@grantsteady.com.
